Human being I is the fully mature aspirant to the "great birth"
1882. Human being I is the most perfect or most developed of the as-yet uninitiated terrestrial human beings. It ranks above all other terrestrial human beings as regards morality and way of being. It simply does not have it in its heart to hurt any being, neither animals nor human beings, indeed, not even plants. That such a being is a vegetarian is naturally a matter of course. It is far above the judicial system, its laws and precepts. If the Earth were populated exclusively by human beings I, the above-mentioned judicial system would be completely superfluous, since these people live and breathe a morality that is the culmination of justice and carry in their hearts a neighbourly love that can make them manifest only peace, joy, happiness and blessing for everything and everyone. Because of their highly developed morality and love, human beings I are not followers of any religious sect whatsoever. They cannot be bound by dogmas that are inferior to their own sense of love or talent for sympathy. They have long since gone through the stages of doubt and materialism and the culmination of suffering or the experience of dark fate connected with these. They have an intuitive sense of the existence of a Godhead and that there must therefore be a real government behind the universe. They feel that everything must actually serve a useful purpose, regardless of how imperfect and evil it may seem to be. Through its highly developed faculty of intuition, human being I will sooner or later begin to receive "cosmic glimpses", which, as is known, are forerunners of, or the first tendencies towards, the experience of the great birth or initiation, which gives rise to permanent cosmic consciousness. Since this being is by nature very loving, and would rather take difficulties and sufferings upon itself than have others burdened by such phenomena, we do not find them in occupations or posts that to a substantial extent are acquired by using one's elbows, by being ruthless, insensitive, ambitious and greedy, but on the contrary often in quite insignificant posts and almost never in posts requiring the use of force and coercion on subordinate beings, servants, waiters and slaves. They all constitute beings for which any superior post involving the use of force and coercion on other beings would be a cross to bear. In the same way any other form of superior, conspicuous position for the same beings would likewise be nothing but a cross to bear. In short, they all have precisely the spiritual maturity and mental attitude that reveals that initiation or the great birth is within sight and is about to rise above their mental or spiritual horizon; in other words, these beings are very advanced aspirants to the "great birth" or the "second coming of Christ in the clouds". This second coming is, as will be remembered, the beings' own experience of initiation or the great birth and the permanent wakingly day-conscious "cosmic consciousness" that ensues from this, and not the birth of Jesus of Nazareth in a new physical body, and his subsequent appearance on the terrestrial, physical plane, such as many erroneously believe.
