1886. Normally this gateway to birth should not be opened permanently until the human-being-I stage. This opening will then be a naturally developed final result of some preliminary attempts, arising as early as in the epoch of human being H, by the functions of the opposite pole to penetrate the brain and thereby the being's waking day-consciousness. It is these – the momentary preliminary attempts of the domain of the opposite pole to penetrate the day-consciousness in the psyche of human being H and human being I, which has been matured for this purpose – that gives rise to the experience of that which we here in Livets Bog express as "cosmic glimpses". Cosmic glimpses are thus natural, organic preliminary attempts at, and preparations for, the normal opening of the gateway to birth and the resulting emergence of the permanent overshadowing of the individual by "cosmic consciousness". This state of consciousness is the same as that which is expressed in the Bible as the ",Comforter, the holy Ghost", the "second coming of Christ in the clouds" and the "kingdom of heaven". It is this permanent opening of the gateway to birth that turns the being into a Christ, that is to say into a being that is one with the Father and thereby constitutes the way, the truth and the life. And the being now appears as a finished or perfect human being in God's image. The prodigal son has returned to his Father and now lives wakingly day-consciously with the Godhead in eternity, immortality and the culmination of love that eternity and immortality reveal. With this expansion of the mentality of human being I, this being can no longer be described as a "human being I", but now belongs to the epoch of the next step on the ladder of evolution. And we will therefore describe this being as a "human being J", which in turn is the same as the organically, cosmically initiated being.
