We know the one of these two poles as the masculine pole.Within the animal kingdom this pole constitutes for some beings the paramount regulating and determining factor, the feminine pole in this being existing in only a latent state.The being is therefore predominantly a masculine being.Since this being's sexual drive or sympathetic faculties can be triggered only by its masculine pole, while its intellectual faculties are triggered by its opposite pole, that is to say its feminine pole, and this is latent, such a being's appearance is only that of a dominating "male" being, which in turn means a reproductive being.Since its intellectual faculties, as previously mentioned, can be triggered here only by its feminine pole, and this is latent or at its least developed stage in the cycle, such a being's intellectuality is similarly something that lies latent within its spiritual structure.Such a being is therefore interested only in its mate and offspring.The being has no ability whatsoever to sense or understand anything that is beyond them.It can hold its own only by being physically superior to other beings.The result of this is that the law of life here is might instead of right.This is the animal's condition of life.And we have here before us beings whose life can be only one of primitiveness and mental darkness.And the being here is thus a "male" animal.
