The highest fire is the eternal spirit upon the face of the waters
1938. The highest fire is thus the divine, primary foundation of life behind all living beings, behind all forms of manifestation, creation and experience and thereby behind the entire universe or cosmos. It determines all cycles and thereby regulates all light and darkness. It is that which shines upon and warms the micro-soul as well as the macro-soul. It sparkles and shines through all eyes and vibrates in every speech. It is the core of every thought and action. It is the white peace and stillness of winter, just as it is the vast ocean of flowers of the summer. It determines every colour, every smell and every size. It guides the dagger in the murderer's hand, and it nails the hands and feet of the son of God to the cross. It resounds through the rumbling of the thunder and blinds us with its flashes of lightning. It is the gentle, babbling brook in the quiet solitude of the forest, just as it is the colossal force of the breakers against the hard granite of the cliffs. It is the little child's feeling of security at its mother's breast, and it is the warming fire in the youth's glances at his young beloved. It is the life in the man's sperm, and it is the first movement of the little embryo in the mother's womb. It shines in the radiance of the morning sun, just as it sparkles in the evening glow of the setting sun. It is God's all-determining will. Without the highest fire there would be no consciousness, no organism, no creation, no experience, no universe and no life. Only an eternal "nothing" and thereby an eternal death would have to exist there where an eternal life now sparkles and shines. The highest fire is the radiance of God's countenance made visible in everything and everyone. It is the eternal spirit upon the face of the waters.
